A classic pepper, commonly found in the dried state on spice racks.  Dried, and sometimes smoked, the paprika is considered sweet if dried and ground without the seeds and placental matter – and “hot” if seeds and all are included in the powder.  Can lend great color to a dish without too much heat.

This plant will produce early in the Midwest and continue throughout the summer and fall.  The fruit, sometimes reaching the size of a medium tomato, can weigh down the plant.  This is one of the few plants I strongly suggest staking.

2000 SHU. This is an estimate. Scoville ratings will change based on growing conditions.
