Calico Pepper

The Calico pepper is a compact ornamental variety with beautiful variegated leaves. The plant, a member of C. annuum. It’s ideal for containers and decorative gardens. Calico has small upright growing fruit that transition from black to bright red as they ripen and have a heat level of 50,000 to 70,000 SHU.

Primarily grown for its appearance, the Calico pepper thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, displaying excellent drought and heat tolerance. The fruit are edible but have a neutral flavor which limits their practical use beyond heat addition.
