Ohio Peppers Return Policy

At Ohio Peppers, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, majority open-pollinated pepper seeds to our customers. We understand the complexities of growing peppers and are committed to supporting you throughout your gardening journey. Here is our return policy, tailored to the unique nature of our products and your gardening experiences.

Understanding Our Seeds:

  • Open Pollination: Most of our seeds are sold as ‘open-pollinated’, which means there’s a natural chance of cross-pollination. Despite our best efforts for isolation, we estimate about 15% cross-pollination rate in our seeds.
  • Variability in Newer Varieties: Some of the more recent and less common pepper crosses may show variations in phenotype from one generation to another, particularly in newer non-heirloom superhots.

Return and Refund Policy:

Return and Refund Policy:

  • Time Frame for Returns: Given the time it takes to grow peppers, we have extended our return window. You may initiate a return within 10 months of purchase if you are not satisfied with the results.
  • Reasons for Return: Valid reasons for return include the wrong seed variety (like the infamous Peppergate), poor germination rates when all best practices are followed, or no heirloom varieties plants growing true to type when multiple are planted. We guarantee a minimum 75% germination rate, with most customers experiencing around 87-90%.
  • Process for Returns: To initiate a return, please contact us with the details of your issue. In cases of germination issues or phenotype concerns, we may ask for a return of the unused seeds for testing and further quality control.
  • Refunds and Replacements: Once your return is approved, you may opt for a refund or replacement. Refunds will be processed to the original method of payment unless otherwise specified.

Growing Recommendations:

  • Minimizing Cross-Pollination Risks: We recommend planting more than one plant to reduce the likelihood of cross-pollination affecting your entire crop. With two plants, the chance of both not growing true drops significantly.
  • Germination Tips: For optimal germination, use clean seed starting soil, ensure it’s not waterlogged, and provide a heat source.
