Fushimi
Fushimi pepper is a traditional Japanese sweet variety from the Kyoto region. It has long skinny pods about 5–6 inches long and thin, fruit walls. Normal green to red ripening. It has little to no heat, typically falling between 0–2,500 SHU, and is known for a sweet, slightly fruity flavor even when harvested green. Plants are productive and mature early. It’s nice that they cook quickly… thanks to their thin walls. Fushimi is most often used for frying, blistering, stir-fries, or fresh eating, making it a great kitchen pepper for authentic dishes.
