Marigolds

Yellow and orange classic African marigolds with big, full flower heads. These are tall plants, commonly reaching 30 to 36 inches. Stems are sturdy and hold the blooms well above the foliage. This is the Crackerjack type, the old reliable kind people have planted forever.

You’ll often hear that marigolds are a magical pest deterrent. Supposed to keep deer and rabbits away. In our experience, we’ve found rabbits and deer happily nesting right in thick patches of marigolds. Grow them because they’re bold, easy, and fun to look at. Not because they’re supposed to scare anything off.
