Reaper x Chupetinho, Red

The red variant of Reaper x Chupetinho starts out green with some purple coloration, then eventually ripens to a deep red.

The shape pulls from both parents. Some pods show more of the rounded Chupetinho shape, while others pick up a bit of the Reaper tail.

Flavor and Heat

The aroma is fruity and somewhat habanero-like. Flavor is also on the fruity side.

Heat is estimated around 10,000 to 30,000 SHU. Interestingly, this red variant seems milder than the peach version.

The heat also hits a little differently. You can get a sudden rush at the back of the throat. Kind of catches you off guard.

Note to Buyers

This is still a newer variety and may not be 100% stable yet. Some fruit may come out a little different than pictured.

That is pretty normal with newer crosses. Expect some variation while the genetics continue to settle down.
