Dolce di Minervino Pepper
Dolce di Minervino is an Italian sweet pepper with long, slender fruit that ripen to a bright red. As the name suggests, this is a mild pepper with essentially no heat. The ripe peppers have a nice sweetness without being overly sugary.
Flavor and Uses
The long pods are useful for roasting, grilling, frying, or simply slicing up fresh. They soften nicely when cooked and work especially well with olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, and other classic Italian-style dishes.
You can also pick them green, but they’ll be sweeter if left to ripen fully red.
Growing Dolce di Minervino
This is a Capsicum annuum and grows much like other Italian sweet peppers. Give the plants plenty of sun, regular water, and warm summer weather.
