Amythest Fire

Amethyst Fire is a Capsicum chinense. think of it as a lower heat purple habanero. it’s standout features includes dark purple foliage and high-contrast pods that mature from nearly black to a neat Barney purple. Heat is solidly in the 70,000–100,000 SHU range, putting it well above jalapeño level and into true hot-pepper territory. Flavor follows a typical chinense profile with noticeable fruitiness and a firm burn. While often treated as an ornamental, the pods are fully usable for sauces or drying, especially if you want heat without pushing into superhot territory.

Grown by us since 2023 as of January 2026, I’m pretty comfortable in the stability of this pepper.
