Fire and Ice Pepper

Fire and Ice is a compact ornamental Capsicum annuum that usually stays under one foot tall.  Don’t be surprised if the plant never grows taller than 8 inches.  These guys are small!  Small plants have small peppers grow upright above the foliage. Fruit ripens from a cream color to a deep red, in a little cluster.

The fruit is somewhat similar to Medusa, though Fire and Ice carries a little more heat. Expect roughly 3,000 SHU, enough for a mild kick without getting anywhere near serious hot pepper territory.

This one is mainly grown for looks, but the peppers are completely edible. They can be used fresh or added to dishes when you want a little color and mild heat. Its compact size also makes it a good choice for containers, patios, and smaller garden spaces.
