Hydra Green

I’m starting to think we’ve lost the plot at this point. A little jumping the shark, If you will. welcome the Hydra Green. Straight up, I do not know how I came across this pepper.

Acquired most likely through a trade over the years. If I had to assume, somebody was trying to grow a hydra pepper (a super hot cross between a chocolate super hot and a Carolina reaper) and a green phenotype popped. I’m always quick to blame cross pollination. That stated, hydra green fruit are very large green super hots. They ripen the green to olive green stage. Other than the color, these fruit have all the other characteristics of the Hydra including the larger size and heat around 1 million scoville. It has been in our collection for a few years and grows generally stable.
