It starts as a pale yellow, transitions to orange, and finally turns red when fully ripe. They are typically harvested in their yellow stage. the Jaloro offers a fruity flavor similar to a standard jalapeño, with a bit more sweetness. With a Scoville Heat Unit rating of around 5,000, it provides a mild to moderate heat level that won’t scare anyone off. The pepper’s thick walls make it ideal for pickling, salsas, or stuffing.
