Reaper x Chupetinho Peach
The Reaper x Chupetinho pepper in its peach variant is quite attractive. Starting as light green when immature, the fruit ripens into a beautiful, soft peach hue that adds a touch of elegance to any garden. Its shape is a captivating blend of the Carolina Reaper’s elongated tail and the Chupetinho’s petite, rounded form, making it a truly unique specimen.
The flavor profile of this pepper is a delightful combination of fruity and citrusy notes. It offers a complex yet harmonious taste experience that is perfect for culinary enthusiasts who appreciate depth and nuance in their dishes.
Contrary to its intimidating lineage, this peach variant of the Reaper x Chupetinho is relatively moderate in heat. It has a rough Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) estimate range of around 50,000 to 80,000. This heat level is more in line with the hotter types of Chupetinho, also known as Pimenta de Bico. It’s worth noting that less hot versions of this pepper are often referred to as “biquinho.”
Note to Buyers:
The Reaper x Chupetinho is a newer variety and is still not 100% stable. As such, buyers may encounter fruit that does not grow exactly as pictured. However, this also adds an element of surprise and discovery to your growing experience.
