Yellow Bishop’s Crown

This is a beautiful and highly prolific baccatum. It is named after its distinctive shape which resembles a bishop’s miter or a bell with three prominent lobes. The fruit are between 1 – 2 inches wide. This particular variety is the yellow Bishop’s crown.

Heat level

The heat is a bit more mild with the bishop’s crown. comparable to a jalapeno but occasionally some cab pack a bit more heat. like any pepper growing conditions are a significant factor in the end heat. I’m more stressed plant is going to be a bit hotter.

Flavor profile

Like most baccatum varieties, the bishop’s crown has a crisp texture with a decent amount of sweetness with a mild fruity undertone. as a result, you get a fruit that’s extremely useful in the kitchen. You can eat it raw or eat it or preserve it via drying or pickling.

This is not a pepper that should be grown as a cute ornamental. It’s not unheard of to have 5 ft tall plants!
