Pimenta Bela Purple
Pimenta Bela Purple is a compact Portuguese variety that first came around a handful of years ago. Dark foliage and a high yields of slender pods that ripen a crazy Barney purple makes this plant stand out. Plants typically reach 40–70 cm and produce consistently throughout the season. I see online chatter of 80,000 to 120,000 SHU… I’m going to personally call that out as nonsense… at least with these. They have a sharp, fruity burn that feels north of 500K, and getting into low ghost range.
If growing these, odds are you’ll use them more as a “Wow, check these out!” as opposed to the secret ingredient in a dish.
