Bismarck Pepper

The Bismarck pepper (Capsicum chinense) is a super-hot chili developed by Italian grower Rocco Maltesi.? Lots of crossing going on with this pepper, as it is a cross between Rocco’s Skunk Red (A cross of Matthew Arthur’s Wartryx and a 7 Pot) and Wartryx (I’ll save you some time – a cross of a bunch of really hot peppers!).? If that seemed confusing – just know that this pepper has lots of devilishly hot ancestors. Named after the German battleship Bismarck, this pepper produces large, bumpy pods that ripen to a bright red.? With a name like Bismarck – one best believe this is a big hot one!
