Hangjiao #2 METEOR

Hangjiao #2 Meteor is a mild Chinese frying pepper. Pods ripen from green to red. Heat taps in around 2000. shu. This is the kind of pepper you use fresh. Think pepper steak or simple stir-fries where the pepper is there for flavor, not heat.

The name comes from a Chinese space pepper program. Seeds from the Hangjiao line were sent into space to increase natural mutation rates and select useful traits. This is the second numbered selection from that line, which is why it carries the #2 Meteor name.
