St Lucia Scotch Bonnet
St. Lucia Scotch Bonnet is a Capsicum chinense pepper known for its unusually large pods (in comparison to other bonnets).
Heat is strong, typically in the 150,000–300,000 SHU range. The fruits are thick, blocky, and noticeably oversized — easily filling a good part of a hand. Prolific may be one of the best words to describe this pepper! By the end of the season, you should be loaded with arm loads of hot peppers. Flavor follows the classic Scotch bonnet profile with a pronounced fruity note that holds up well in sauces and Caribbean-style dishes
Sauces or in Caribbean dishes, can’t go wrong with this one. Unless… you catch a bug while in St. Lucia and jump out of a transit van to puke between tree rows at a banana plantation.
