Bulgarian Carrot – Shipka
Bulgarian Carrot – also known as Shipka – is an orange heirloom from Bulgaria. Its name comes from resemblance to a carrot in shape and striking orange color. The flavor can best be described as fruity, tangy, with a crisp thicker flesh.
I heat level is between jalapeno and Serrano. Expect upwards to 30 fruit per plant, these fellas are quite productive. heightwise, this plant will not dominate and take over your garden. It’s likely to not go above 2 ft in height. aside from all the normal pepper uses one would do with a pepper like this – try pickling. This is a primo candidate with its thick flesh!
