Goronong (Coronong)
The Goronong pepper (Capsicum chinense), also known as Coronong, is an heirloom variety from Malaysia with bright yellow, wrinkled pods resembling habaneros. Compact and prolific, the plant produces peppers with a heat level around 200,000 SHU. Its name translates to “stinger,” reflecting its spiciness compared to typical Malaysian peppers.
Note: Seeds are not fully isolated, but mitigation methods like organza netting are used to minimize cross pollination.
