Aji Lucento Rocoto
Aji Lucento is a Capsicum pubescens rocoto with thick-walled fruit and moderate heat. Expect somewhere around 15,000 to 25,000 SHU.
Like other rocotos, the plants handle cooler conditions better than most pepper species. They also have the classic C. pubescens traits. Black seeds, fuzzy stems, and hairy leaves make them pretty easy to identify.
The fruit have thick, dense flesh. They work well fresh, roasted, stuffed, or just chopped up for cooking. Rocotos are a little different from the peppers most folks are used to growing, which is part of the fun.
