Aji Rainforest

The Aji Rainforest pepper (Capsicum baccatum) is a chili variety originating from the Brazilian rainforest. A bright crunchy pepper, as is typical with baccatum peppers. The plant is a tall one, reaching heights up to 5 feet. It yields a heavy load of small, bell-shaped peppers.  Fruit mature from green to orange, and finally to bright red. Look for a fresh citrus-like flavor with some solid background heat. The heat varies greatly based on growing conditions, but expect heat in the 25K SHU range, plus or minus 10K!

Snacking, pickling, salsa – not too hot, not too mild. Aji rainforest may be the perfect pepper.
