Death Spiral is a great producer in SW Ohio – with the majority of harvest coming mid to late season. A strong plant, it may benefit from staking but should be able to hold its own. At the worst, some fruit may drag the ground – and issue if you have soil borne pathogens. For a red superhot, the death spiral is about as cool looking as you can get!
1250000 SHU. This is an estimate. Scoville ratings will change based on growing conditions. Rarer superhots may still have genetic instability in heat expression.

These are the best producing plants that I’ve got this year!
These gnarly peppers are so ugly, they’re beautiful! The sweet rich flavor is followed with a deep heat that last for several minutes. It has just a touch of floral flavor, but it’s not overpowering and is quite pleasant.
I’m in zone 5b Indiana and these have been a joy to grow and will always find a place in my gardens.
