Marconi Rosso (Marconi Red) Sweet Pepper
Marconi Rosso is a large Italian sweet pepper. Fruit are long, usually around 6 to 8 inches, and ripen to a deep red. The flesh is thick and very sweet once fully ripe.
Uses:
We once grilled a bunch of home-grown Marconi Reds at a BBQ. Little bit of oil and salt. That was it. They disappeared pretty quickly.
In addition to grilling, they are delicious roasted. They also work well stuffed, chopped into salads, or cooked into sauces. Basically, use them anywhere you would use a bell pepper.
Taste:
Flavor wise, I find them slightly sweeter than Corno di Toro Rosso. Let them fully ripen if sweetness is what you are after.
Big pepper. No heat. Lots of sweet flesh to work with.
